BANDA, apartment B1, is part of a six-apartment complex. It is located on the top floor with a grand view of the Pacific Ocean, the Nosara beaches of Pelada and Guiones and lots of trees and jungle. The apartments can be rented separately and in various combinations,sleeping a total of 16 people. Please see our other listings. This apartment was built for our personal use, with a lot of attention to details, but we can’t spend all our time there yet, so for now, we are happy to share it. The condo sleeps 4. The master bedroom has a king size bed with orthopedic mattress, the second bedroom a queen size bed, also with an orthopedic mattress. Each bedroom has a private full bathroom. The kitchen is very well equipped, and meals can be enjoyed at the bar or on the balcony. All furniture and cabinetry is hand crafted from Costa Rican hardwoods. Because of the location on top of the hill and the windows and French doors on all sides plus lots of fans, there is always a nice breeze keeping the indoors comfortable. Should it get too hot for you, this apartment also has central air conditioning for an extra fee. All linens and bath towels are included. Please bring your own towels for the beach. The maid comes once a week. Extra cleaning can be arranged for a fee. There are two safety boxes for your valuables. The telephone can be used for free local calls. For stays of one month or more, dial up internet service can be arranged for a fee. Otherwise, Internet service is available at LaGarta Lodge 5 minutes down the road and at several other places in the area. No TV yet, but a growing library of books – mostly “beach” reading - and various games, cards and puzzles can entertain should you need it. There is also a boom box and a good variety of CD’s. Because of the balcony, the condo is not safe for young children. Smoking indoors and pets are not allowed. The six apartments share the large pool, pool house and the laundry room. The walk to the nearest beach takes about 10-12 minutes down the hill, and coming back up the hill takes a bit longer. The terrain in and around Nosara is hilly. There are several restaurants and a grocery store within walking distance. To fully experience the area in and around the village of Nosara which is about 3 miles/5 kilometers inland, we recommend renting a car or ATV. Several of our clients have also rented bicycles to get around. Additionally, trucks with produce (and eggs) and baked goods come to the neighborhood. Some of the best surfing breaks in Costa Rica are found nearby at Playa Guiones. Between July and December, the Olive Ridley Turtles

Our banana pams and citrus trees are growing up and bearing fruits. The gardener will leave ripe fruit in the laundry room, but you can also ask him to let you know when something is ready to eat.

Rental Policies: Deposit: A deposit of 50% of the rental amount is due at the time of reservation, payment in full is due 30 days prior to expected arrival. Payment for A/C and Internet use is payable upon arrival. Holiday rentals for Easter week and Christmas/New Years, starting the Friday before Christmas and ending the Sunday after New Years, must be paid in full at the time of reservation. No reservation is confirmed until we receive deposit and a rental agreement completed and signed by you. Payment options: * By certified check/money order to Virginia. * By PayPal, please add 3.5% for our fees. * By credit card via PayPal, please add 3.5 % for our fees. If a PayPal payment originates outside the US, an extra 1% "border crossing fee" must be added to rental fee + 3.5% reg. fee * By wire transfer to Costa Rica, please add $ 25 for bank fees in CR. Additionally, most banks in the US charge $ 40 to send an international wire. Damage Deposit: There is a $300 cash security deposit required upon arrival. This deposit will be refunded to you upon departure, after the premises have been found to be in a satisfactory condition. Renter is responsible for the inventory and will be charged for any missing or damaged items. This includes the property, e.g. walls, doors, fixtures, etc. Cancellation Policy: Cancellations made more than 30 days prior to scheduled arrival will incur a cancellation charge of 50% of required deposit amount. Cancellations made less than 30 days prior to scheduled arrival are considered non-refundable unless we are able to rebook the property for the dates you had reserved. If we rebook the property, we will refund a prorated share of the rental fee for each day we are able to fill, less a $50 cancellation fee. There will be NO refunds because of the malfunction of the contents of any of the units. We try to keep all unit contents in good working order and any problems will be addressed as quickly as possible.
